Technical Characteristics of FR-One Fabrics
FR-One fabrics are produced using yarn spun from inherently FR man-made textile fibres. The major requirement of an inherently FR textile yarn is to prevent flames or fire on the fabric from spreading quickly.
The terms fire retardant should not be taken to imply that a fabric is fire-proof.
The inherently FR fibre is engineered so that flames do not spread quickly and have some self-extinguishing characteristics, although this does not mean that if a fabric is ignited it will extinguish itself. The molecular structure of the fibres in an inherently FR textile have been engineered to provide the required FR characteristics.
