Washing
All FR-One fabrics are tested for washing performance and meet the required International washing standards.

General FR-One fabrics washing and care instructions:

Washable at 60°C / 140° Fahrenheit gentle cycle , do not bleach , low temperature iron, dry clean with perchlorethylene, tumble dry low temperature gentle cycle.

dry clean with perchlorethylene

Please refer to the specific recommended washing instructions as different fabrics may require special processes.
FR = Permanent FR
The inherently flame retardant nature of all FR-One fabric fibers is conserved within its molecular structure. This means that the flame retardant characteristics of the fibre, yarn and fabric is permanent throughout the lifetime of the product. No further treatments are required.

In order to preserve the inherent flame retardant characteristics of the FR-One fabric, it is imperative to refuse any additional treatments or finishes as it may affect or alter the fabric's inherent flame retardant characteristics and quality.

The FR-One symbol

The FR-One symbol also stands for the general quality and performance of the fabric. All fabrics are tested to meet the highest standards for:

Dry cleaning
All FR-One fabrics are tested for dry-cleaning performance and meet the required International dry-celaning washing standards.

Continuous quality control
All FR-One fabrics are subjected to continuous safety and quality controls (CQC) through rigorous testing by our specialist in-house laboratory. This is in addition to the flame retardancy safety tests performed by accredited laboratories all around the world.

Our continuous quality control (CQC) means that every new batch or dye-lot of fabric is tested to make sure that it meets the highest fire safety standard. It also conforms to all other industry soft furnishing fabric requirements such as abrasion, durability, colour fastness and washability.

Our in-house testing provides additional reassurance that washing a fabric according to the recommended washing instructions does not affect its inherent flame retardancy characteristics.
Color fastness to light
All FR-One fabrics are tested for colour fastness (resistance) to light. FR-One fabrics achieve a minimum of grade 5 (on a scale of 8).
Color fastness to water
All FR-One fabrics are tested for colour fastness (resistance) to water. FR-One fabrics achieve a minimum of grade 5 (on a scale of 8).
Rub fastness
All FR-One upholstery fabrics are tested for wet and dry rub-fastness. This test measures the degree to which colour comes off when rubbed with a wet and a dry fabric cloth. Rub-fastness is also known as "Crocking". FR-One fabrics achieve a minimum of grade 5 (on a scale of 5).
Seam slippage
All FR-One upholstery fabrics are tested for seam slippage. The test measures the slippage the seam makes when both sides of the fabrics are stretched. Two pieces of fabric are sewn together in the direction of the warp and in the direction of the weft. The fabric is stretched under tension from both sides and released. The opening of the seam is then measured when the fabric is still under tension. A seam slippage result of less than 5mm for both warp and the weft is considered good. FR-One upholstery fabrics have a minimum seam slippage of less than 4mm.
Tear strength
All FR-One fabrics have their tear strength tested. Tear strength is a measurement of the tear force required to propagate a single-rip tear of defined length from a cut in a fabric when a sudden force is applied. FR-One fabrics meet International Tear strength standards.
Tensile strength
All FR-One fabrics have their tensile strength tested. Tensile strength is a measurement of the resistance of a fabric when a pulling force is applied on both of its ends to breaking point. FR-One fabrics meet International Tensile strength standards.
Dimensional stability
All FR-One fabrics are tested for dimensional stability. The characteristics of different fabric compositions and constructions can result in the curtain not being stable in normal atmospheric conditions. The dimensional stability test is conducted by hanging fabric for 7 days at a room temperature of 20ºC with 65% humidity. After the 7 days the fabric is then measured in the warp and the weft direction and any difference in dimension is recorded. All FR-One fabrics are dimensionally stable and meet International stability standard.
Martindale durability
All FR-One upholstery fabrics are tested for Martindale durability through measurement of surface changes from everyday use. A person moving around on a sofa causes wear on the fabric.

The Martindale machine measures durability by applying a multi-directional rub to the fabric. Upholstery fabrics need to achieve a minimum of 40,000 Martindale cycles to be classified for contract upholstery.

All FR-One upholstery fabrics meet International contract upholstery standards.
Wyzenbeek durability
All FR-One upholstery fabrics are tested for Wyzenbeek durability through measurement of surface changes from everyday use. A person moving around on a sofa causes wear on the fabric.

The Wyzenbeek "double rubs" test measures durability by applying a lateral back & forth rub to the fabric. Upholstery fabrics need to achieve a minimum of 30,000 Wyzenbeek "double rubs" (#10 cotton duck) to be classified for contract upholstery.

All FR-One upholstery fabrics meet international contract upholstery standards.
Pilling
All FR-One upholstery fabrics are tested for Pilling and meet the required International standards.
