Principle

A flame is applied to a test specimen to determine the burning behaviour of a fabric used for the interior of motor vehicles.

Test method

 The test specimen is mounted horizontally in a test chamber. A gas flame is applied to the bottom of the specimen. The burnt distance and the time taken to burn this distance is recorded. The burning rate (mm/min) is calculated.

Result

 The test material passes or fails the test.
